This page is to encourage all of you out there who have always wanted to play the violin but have been putting it off for various reasons. In November 2012 I casually mentioned to one of Atlin's finest fiddle players that I had always wanted to learn the violin. Well lo and behold if Harry didn't call in only a few weeks to encourage me to buy a violin out of the Sears catalogue since it was very affordable. I immediately thought "why not, I'll give it a try." The $150.00 violin did the trick! In less than a week I was hooked. I then ordered a better violin from "The International Violin Company" in Maryland, USA. At 58 years old and only 4 months later I have a repertoire of 21 songs. Yes, many of them are songs to entertain preschoolers like "Puff The Magic Dragon" and "I'm A Little Teapot" but these simple songs have given me a great sense of accomplishment. My only regret......I wish I had started years ago. So before anymore time goes by get started, you won't regret it!
Hey...it's four years later (2016) and still playing! If you live in Atlin and are interested in playing the violin with other keen folks give me a call!
